Experts in Multi-Cavity Injection Molding of Recycled Polyvinyl Chloride
RFP Description
NineSigma, representing a Global Manufacturer of Injection Molded Products, seeks Subject Matter Experts and other Qualified Partners to participate in a range of compensated activities related to multi-cavity molding of recycled polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Experts with extensive experience, in-depth know-how and documented professional success from across the landscape of industry, consulting and academia are invited to respond.

NineSigma’s client manufactures injection molded products from recycled PVC via a highly optimized, single cavity molding process. They have determined that a shift to multiple cavity molding could represent a game-changing innovation within their business both in terms of cost and output volume. However, recycled PVC is inherently difficult to manage in a multi-cavity system. Issues can result from material degradation, cavity-to-cavity variability, warping and other inconsistencies.


The client’s internal know-how around this technology space is relatively limited at present. In particular, the compatibility and means of optimizing reliable multi-cavity technologies with their specific PVC materials. They are seeking to identify external industry experts who can provide the direction, insights and industry connections required overcome these limitations.

Key Success Criteria

The ideal expert will:

  • Be familiar with current and emerging multi-cavity molding technologies
    • Equipment design (screw, barrel, runner, etc.)
    • Process parameters (melting, injection, cooling, ejection, etc.)
    • Mold design and optimization
  • Be familiar with injection molding specifically for recycled PVC materials
    • Qualified respondents with expertise regarding molding of PVC alloys are of significant interest
  • Be based in North America OR have access to North American-based affiliate branches
  • Be able to assist the client in identifying and recommending technologies, designs, partners or suppliers to achieve their stated end goals


Potential experts may be involved in a wide range of technical disciplines, including but not limited to injection molding, materials science, process engineering, industrial engineering, equipment manufacture and supply, mold design, aerospace, automotive, and packaging.
